Powerful instruments that demand respect
Futures are agreements to buy or sell an asset at a set price on a future date. Options give you the right — but not the obligation — to buy (call) or sell (put) at a chosen strike price. Traders use them to hedge, speculate or earn premium income.

Frequently asked questions
Still unsure? Our advisors are happy to explain anything — no jargon, no pressure.
What is the difference between futures and options?
A futures contract obliges both parties to transact at expiry, so profits and losses are unlimited in either direction. An options buyer pays a premium for the right (not obligation) to transact, so the buyer's maximum loss is the premium paid; option sellers take on larger risk.
What documents do I need to activate F&O?
Income proof such as a recent ITR acknowledgement, salary slip, 6-month bank statement, Form 16 or net-worth certificate, as per exchange and SEBI requirements.
How much margin is required?
Margin depends on the contract, volatility and strategy. Hedged strategies usually need much less margin than naked positions. Your platform shows the exact requirement before you place an order.
Is F&O suitable for beginners?
Generally, no. We recommend gaining experience in the cash market first and understanding options thoroughly. If you do trade, start small with defined-risk strategies.
When do contracts expire?
Index and stock derivatives on NSE and BSE have weekly and/or monthly expiries as notified by the exchanges. Your advisor will keep you updated on current expiry schedules.
