Lumpsum calculator — value of a one-time investment
Find out what a single investment could grow to over time at your expected rate of return.
Tip: increasing your SIP by just 10% every year can dramatically grow your final corpus. Returns shown are compounded and illustrative.
Estimates are illustrative, not guaranteed returns.
Compound growth, explained
A lumpsum investment grows as FV = P × (1 + r)t, where P is the amount invested, r is the annual return and t is the number of years.
Lumpsum works well when you have a windfall — a bonus, maturity proceeds or inheritance. In volatile markets, consider deploying it gradually through an STP (Systematic Transfer Plan).
Lumpsum or SIP — which is better?
SIPs average your cost over time and suit regular income. Lumpsum can work well for long horizons, especially when markets are reasonably valued. Many investors combine both.
What is an STP?
A Systematic Transfer Plan moves money from a debt or liquid fund into an equity fund in instalments, reducing timing risk.
Are the results guaranteed?
No. Results are illustrative and assume a constant rate of return.
