SIP calculator — see your money compound
Estimate the future value of your monthly SIP, compare it with a lumpsum, and see the impact of an annual step-up.
Tip: increasing your SIP by just 10% every year can dramatically grow your final corpus. Returns shown are compounded and illustrative.
Estimates are illustrative, not guaranteed returns.
The SIP formula
A SIP’s maturity value is calculated as FV = P × [((1 + i)n − 1) ÷ i] × (1 + i), where P is your monthly investment, i is the monthly rate of return and n is the number of months.
With a step-up, your SIP grows by a fixed percentage every year — a powerful way to keep pace with your rising income.
- Start early — time in the market matters more than timing the market.
- Stay consistent through market ups and downs.
- Increase your SIP whenever your income rises.
Is the SIP return guaranteed?
No. Mutual fund returns are market-linked. The calculator uses an assumed constant rate for illustration only.
What return rate should I assume?
Use conservative estimates — for example 10–12% for diversified equity funds over the long term, and 6–7% for debt funds. Past performance does not guarantee future returns.
What is a step-up SIP?
A step-up (or top-up) SIP automatically increases your instalment by a fixed percentage each year.
Can I start a SIP with ₹500?
Yes. Many funds allow SIPs from ₹100–₹500 per month.
